Understanding the Path of Destiny and God's Existence from an Onigiri

When questioning fate and the presence of God, many of us immediately think that it is a divine secret and we are not entitled to know, and we only need to believe that everything is already planned with God's presence. As a result, many of us began to feel it was taboo to think that way because if we continued to question it, we would seem to lack faith in God or feel we were being incited not to believe in God. In fact, with good humility, questioning these things can actually convince us of God's presence and the path of destiny.

What and how? We often misunderstand questions related to fate. Many of us think that destiny must be related to a human relationship, misfortune, luck, or even death. Therefore, many of us are reluctant to think about or question this. In fact, destiny can be found in the small things we experience in our lives, just like in this writing. When an onigiri made me think and believe in the path of destiny and the existence of God, this writing was born.

One day during Ramadan, at 5:42 PM WIB, I woke up feeling surprised because I had accidentally fallen asleep after Asr prayer. With my life still hanging by a thread, I immediately rushed to find food for iftar, walking with the shock still lingering, muttering in annoyance and saying, "Why, God?" At that moment, the reason I was upset was because I had fallen asleep, why God had made me fall asleep, and I was sure there would be no food left for iftar because it was too late to look for any. The first place I visited was a stall selling all sorts of food. Sure enough, all the food there was completely sold out, leaving only scattered crumbs of fried food on the table, as if telling me I was unlucky. The second place I hoped to break my fast was a Tegal food stall, or "warteg," but alas, the "warteg" I visited only displayed empty shelves and plates lined up. Desperate because the time was already 5:50 PM WIB, I stopped by Alfamart with the intention of breaking my fast with mineral water. But fate had other plans. When I arrived there, my attention was drawn to a single onigiri sitting in the cash register drawer, as if waiting to be bought. "Unlike usual, onigiri is still available at this hour," I thought. Without thinking twice, I immediately bought the onigiri and a bottle of mineral water. This is where I started to think and wonder.

As I walked, shrouded in confusion, I asked, "Why are you still here?" What did I do to be so lucky to have you at this difficult time?" Immediately after asking this, I was struck by my first question, "Why God?" which led to an interesting conclusion about destiny and the presence of God. It can be said that my meeting with onigiri was destiny and God's plan. It's impossible that everything I went thru, from oversleeping and having trouble finding an open store to getting the last onigiri in the afternoon, was just a coincidence. I believe this is all fate that God has ordained for me to accept. All the percentages of probability in the world became gray at that moment.

I became aware, fell silent, and reflected after concluding that. Of course, this is just a theory, but with this event, I am even more convinced of the path of destiny and the existence of God. In this event, God showed how fate works in detail. Where "wartegs" normally never run out of food, but at that moment they did, even down to how onigiri, which usually sells out by the afternoon, still had one left.

Indeed, when you think about it, this is a ridiculous thing. How funny it is that a simple onigiri can spark thoughts about the course of destiny and even the existence of God. But there's no denying that this small thing is what makes me even more certain about the path of destiny and the presence of God in my life.
