Establishment of the West Kalimantan Students’ House (RPM-KB) in Cairo, Egypt   
Strengthening Indonesian Human Capital on the Global Stage


Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt

In an effort to strengthen the quality and global competitiveness of Indonesian human capital, students and scholars from West Kalimantan, Indonesia, currently pursuing their studies in Egypt, have officially initiated the establishment of the West Kalimantan Students’ House in Cairo (RPM-KB Cairo).
RPM-KB Cairo is envisioned as a center for academic excellence, personal development, and international collaboration, serving West Kalimantan students enrolled at Al-Azhar University and other international educational institutions across Egypt.


Vision, Mission, and Core Functions   
RPM-KB Cairo is designed as an inclusive, forward-looking, and dynamic hub that responds to the evolving needs of students in the modern era. Its core functions include:
1. Religious and Intellectual Development
Cross-school Islamic studies and contemporary Islamic thought
Classical Islamic texts (turath) discussion forums
International fiqh forums and global Muslim issues
Modern da’wah training, public speaking, and multilingual communication
2. Academic and Scholarly Advancement
Academic writing and research clinics (Arabic–English–Indonesian)
Interdisciplinary scholarly discussions (Islamic studies, economics, politics, social sciences, and technology)
Research methodology workshops and international journal writing
Global scholarship and postgraduate study preparation
3. Technology and Modern Skill Development
Digital literacy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications for students
Content creation, digital branding, and educational media training
Graphic design, multimedia, and data management skills
Digital entrepreneurship and diaspora-based startup initiatives
4. Leadership, Social Engagement, and Global Networking
Leadership development, student diplomacy, and organizational management training
Community service and Indonesian diaspora engagement
International student advocacy forums
Cross-cultural and international networking opportunities
5. Culture and National Identity

The establishment of RPM-KB Cairo is a collective initiative of the West Kalimantan student community in Egypt, led by: Mohammad Thareque Kareem ,A senior student at Al-Azhar University, widely recognized for his visionary leadership, multidisciplinary competence, and high level of energy. In addition to his academic engagement, he actively promotes physical well-being through sports such as horse riding and swimming, reflecting a holistic approach to personal development.
Under his leadership, RPM-KB Cairo is directed toward becoming a strategic center for talent development, aligned with global academic standards and Indonesia’s future needs.
Initial Funding and Community Support
At its initial stage, RPM-KB Cairo has successfully  through donations from students, families, and supporters.
The organizers hope this support will continue to grow and serve as a form of ongoing charitable contribution (sadaqah jariyah), as investment in education and youth development yields long-term benefits for society and civilization.


Short-Term Priority Programs   
In the near future, RPM-KB Cairo will implement several strategic programs, including:
Student Capacity Building Programs (language proficiency, research skills, and leadership)
Indonesia–International Student Discussion Forums
Academic Writing and Digital Skills Training
Intensive Al-Azhar Studies and Global Issues Seminars
Mentorship Programs for New Indonesian Students in Egypt
Healthy Lifestyle and Mental Well-Being Programs
These initiatives are designed to enhance students’ competence, adaptability, and professional readiness in an international academic environment.
Women’s Empowerment and Aspirations: Statement by Aisha Khatoon
In the same announcement, Aisha Khatoon, a representative of female students from West Kalimantan in Egypt, expressed her hope that RPM-KB Cairo will also develop into a center for women’s empowerment and leadership within the student community.
She emphasized that Indonesian female students abroad play a vital role as Muslim intellectuals, cultural ambassadors, and global change-makers.
Aisha Khatoon envisions RPM-KB Cairo as a supportive and empowering space for women through initiatives such as:
Global Women’s Leadership and Scholarship Forums
Discussions on contemporary Muslim women’s issues and global civilization
Academic writing support, international research collaboration, and career mentoring
Women’s health, mental well-being, and self-development programs
Cross-cultural dialogue and humanitarian advocacy
Women-led digital da’wah and ethical media literacy initiatives
These programs aim to cultivate confident, knowledgeable, and globally engaged female scholars, firmly rooted in Islamic values and international standards.
“RPM-KB Cairo should become a home that nurtures women’s intellectual growth, leadership, and solidarity, enabling West Kalimantan female students to contribute meaningfully to society at both national and global levels,” said Aisha Khatoon.Call to Action and Inspirational MessageRPM-KB Cairo is not merely a physical space, but a platform for growth, collaboration, and civilizational contribution.“Great students are not only seekers of knowledge, but builders of character, networks, and impact.
